Penn Estates is a primarily residential community in the East Stroudsburg zip code of the Poconos. There are over 1750 properties in the gated community of Penn Estates, about 200 are registered as STR properties. Property Owners who want to operate a short-term rental in Penn Estates pay a fee to the association (POA) as well as license fees to Stroud Township. The Rental Policy at Penn Estates requires that each guest group to be registered, with a modest per stay fee if done at least 3 days in advance, double if done last minute. Each vehicle is registered and will get a pass for the two gates to the community.

Caution should be exercised as a small section of Penn Estates in in Pocono Township which does not allow STR in residential neighborhoods, otherwise Penn Estates is one of our Top 10 STR Communities in the Poconos.
Maximum occupancy for a STR in this community is 12 people, homes with 5 BR sell at a huge premium. Proximity to two ski areas and the community’s proximity to New Jersey are demand drivers. Penn Estates has central water and sewer and allows swimming pools which seem quite popular with vacation rentals.

Penn Estates produced some of the strongest seller results among the communities that allow STR. More than half of all sales closed at or above asking, and the overall sale-to-list ratio slightly exceeded 100%.
